Love Thursday: Playing Together

You wouldn’t think it possible for a three and a half month old to play with a two year old and an adult. But it is. Granted, there’s a lot of, “Be easy! Be careful!” But both boys seem to have a good time. BigBrother laughs and giggles. LittleBrother smiles and laughs, his eyes lit up like this is the most fun he’s ever had… thus far. And of course, the love for both boys is evident in FireDad’s eyes.
This is what we wanted for our boys. This is part of the reason behind the decision to “space” our kids closely. Not the whole reason, of course, but some of it! My brother was eight years younger than me. It wasn’t really interesting to try to “play” with him when he wasn’t doing more than rolling over. We had hopes that they would like each other.
And, yes, we’re realistic. We know there will be sibling rivalry. Broken toys. Hurt feelings. But on afternoons like this one (yesterday), it’s nice to live in the moment and enjoy the laughter. If I could only bottle up this love for future days to come…
Love Thursday. It’s good.

You said, “We know there will be sibling rivalry. Broken toys. Hurt feelings.”
Yes, but I love that you’re appreciating moments like this.
Thanks for the reminder!

So sweet! You said exactly what I think when I see my girls having fun and playing together. They are 2.5 and 5 and I hope they grow up to be the best of friends. Cute picture

Hey - thanks for the comment! I dabble in picture taking but don’t consider myself a photographer. I love you portrait of your son in the vest and orange shirt. Beautiful light!
We have something in common, my hubby’s a firefighter for Detroit.
I bet we could swap some stories, huh?

Oh how nice! I’m so sad because my little one is 4 and will be probably at least 5 before he has a sibling. My siblings were all close. Anyway, being close in age had it’s ups and downs but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Thanks for sharing. Happy love thursday!!

I love watching and hearing my girls play together. Yeah, there’s screaming and crying and hitting sometimes, but for the most part, they’re best friends. (I just hope this keeps up in their teenage years!!!)
I tagged you over at my blog today.

My kids are 2 years apart as well and they have SO much fun together (so far…..). I hope it keeps up for a long time! In preschool my son had to name his best friend and he named his sister! How sweet is that!
