I’ve kvetched about the way that fathers are treated and portrayed in magazines, books and in marketing in general. Now there’s a (new!) blog, by a Dad, that’s set to call out those that refuse to recognize those Dads that are putting in the time and work with their children. (Perhaps that Dad should review that one book that I gave a thorough lambasting last year? Yeah.)

  1. oh my gosh, on his post “Name and Shame #1″ he lists a place in rochester ny!! he must be local to me! how weird!

  2. Pumpkin is in day care 3 days a week and I am constantly shocked at how the women who work at the day care refer to the fathers. My husband is very involved in Pumpkin’s day-to-day care, yet these women automatically would say things like “are you one of those dads who will have no clue when we ask you about your son?” My husband puts together the bottles for day care every morning and packages up the food we were going to send in and they just automatically assume that I do that, even though my husband is the one who always drops him off in the morning. I don’t think they could conceive of the fact that a dad could have it together enough to do those things.
