No More Stalking!

If you’ve been reading the blog over the past two weeks, you’ve seen small references to the crazy stalking that has been going on in our household. No, no. No one is stalking us. (Hi. We’re boring.) We’ve been doing the stalking. No, no. We’re not stalking someone. We’ve been stalking it. You know. It. The glorious thing that brings families together and makes them move around while they play.
The glorious, beautiful Wii.
We stalked nowinstock.com and wiitracker.com with feverish regularity. In fact, the window was up on the computer for two weeks straight. FireDad was bummed when he missed multiple stockings on Sears.com one night because he had the audacity to, you know, go to bed and sleep. The nerve!
Of course, part of his problem was that he was too darn picky. He didn’t want to buy one that would possibly have a game that he didn’t like. He really just wanted the console with the Wii Sports game and nothing more. Well, that’s like trying to score a Mint Chocolate Zoo print Goodmama diaper! (Oh, references that only those in this household or the cloth diapering world will get!) Plain consoles were selling out in less than four minutes. Even the more expensive bundles were selling out around twelve minutes after stocking on the websites. As FireDad doesn’t sit around on the computer like some people we know (what?), he kept missing them… over and over and over and over!
I finally got semi-fed-up. And by semi-fed-up, I mean I was pretty grouchy about the whole ordeal. I happened to be working and saw that a bundle stocked on Etoys.com. I told him. He came to the computer. And then he complained about the games. And I said something grumpy in a mean-esque tone and closed the window as he stood there and probably ended the sentence with, “FINE!” Even in verbal caps lock.
Imagine my surprise when the UPS Man delivered a big box (and two small boxes because I got some books about discipline and an outfit to review for LittleBrother) arrived. FireDad bounced around like a kid on Christmas morning. Apparently, after I grumped at him, he went downstairs (to the office) and ordered it and just didn’t tell me. I looked at him and asked what we would have done if I had just broken down and bought one should I have seen one stock over the weekend. His reply? “We would have sold it on eBay like all of those other unethical meanie-heads* and made a profit!” Oh. Yeah. Good call.
And so, yes, we’re already addicted. Instead of cleaning while the boys napped (at the same time) today, I bowled a 190! I feel like a superstar! I’ve only ever broke 100 in real life ONE TIME in my life! So this feels awesome! And yes. My arm hurts. FireDad wants to take it to work with him on Friday to play after business hours with the guys. I want to say something snarky and mean like, “Over my dead body,” but I don’t want to tempt him. Wii’s are heady stuff.
In short: Wii have a We. Or, wait. We have a Wii. You know!

Aren’t they addicting? We finally got one a few weeks ago by accident. We were at Wal-Mart and they just got a shipment in that day! If you don’t want to pay fifty bucks a game you can sign up for gamefly. It’s like netflix but for video games.
Have fun!

I’m with you. We got a Wii for Christmas and I love it. I’m totally addicted to it. The Easter Bunny just brought a new Wii game for each of the kids last weekend so now we have even more to play. We may never leave the house again.

We’re questing to get one. One of Jeff’s friends had one and we got to play with it at New Years. Our quest is a little harder though because we’re just stalking Target stores. (We raked in the Target giftcards at Christmas and other occasions and decided to earmark them for this).

Welcome to the Wii world! We spent a good month looking for a Wii. The stars, moon, planets, and all the cosmic forces finally aligned and we were able to find one.
Have fun and try not to get to addicted to it.

OUI! I DO KNOW! MWAHAHAHAHA!
We got lucky when we found our Wii. Sent the husband out for prescriptions, came home from Tarzhay with a Wii. Apparently 9:00 at night they were stocking shelves. WOOHOO!
Have fun. I’ve never bowled so well in my whole life.

One word of caution: do not open the messages that tell you how long you have played for that day. It can be a little depressing to see the massive amount of hours sucked into that little device!
(seriously, with 6 of us playing in our home, the numbers get pretty darned high!!!)

You lucky family, you! If I knew where you lived, I would probably come stalk you in order to get an invite in to play. Yikes, that sounded threatening. I wasn’t threatening… I was strongly urging you to invite me over.

Mr. Husband bought a Wii back in October or November and I have yet to play it. I’m holding out due to spite because he threw a hissy fit at me for spending too much money moments before he ordered it then didn’t tell me he bought it. Damn hypocrite. why, yes, I am a spiteful bitch.
I would play your Wii, though.

Can I tell you how jealous I am? And if you had a Wii AND a MCZ Goodmama I might just have to scream… You don’t have both, do you??

M; I don’t have an MCZ Goodmama, I am sad to say. THAT said, I did buy a no-name-brand fitted in the same print just to cheat. (See: It’s cute enough. Fades badly though.) That said… I do have a Cherry Rickey. But my main lust is the Electrolyte!

Ahhh…I so was like you a few months ago! I finally bit the bullet and paid slightly more than retail on ebay. Totally worth it, we all love it! Congrats on the 190! My oldest daughter beats the pants off of us in that…and she just turned 4!
Welcome to the dark side, ummm, I mean Wii side!
