So Busy Busy Busy

It has been a whirlwind week! Besides speeding around town, like 99% of the rest of the population of the city, and getting caught, unlike 98% of the rest of the population, it’s just been one of those weeks that slips away from you. Suddenly, you wake up and the end of the week has arrived. While some of the chaos was nice to have disappear quickly, it’s left me with a messy house and a frazzled set of nerves.

Besides the $110.00 that I now owe our city and my frazzled nerves, some cool things have happened this week. And so, as Friday afternoon has left me with five minutes to myself, let me recap five awesome things that happened this week.

1. BigBrother is learning his states. True, he can’t remember to start with the number “one” when counting but he now knows California, Oregon and Florida and also always says the word “apple” after the state of Washington. He has a placemat at his spot at the table… mainly because he’s a messy, messy eater. (Today? While having snack, he mixed juice (!) and yogurt with his fingers. Creative? More like just messy.) It’s really cute to hear Cal-EE-forn-EE-uh in his two-year-old-ese.

2. LittleBrother moved to his (Britax) convertible car seat. Now he doesn’t absolutely scream should I dare to put my foot on the break and bring the car to a stop at stop lights, stop signs or, you know, to avoid slamming into the back of the vehicle in front of us. Prior to this switch, stopping was NOT ALLOWED. Now he just stares at BigBrother… as BigBrothers sings “Roxanne” by The Police. Over. And over. AND OVER. For an hour and a half on our trip to Pennsylvania.

3. I got to hang out with an old friend that I hadn’t seen in seven years. She brought along her three year old son and BigBrother made a new friend. There were some tears but he even shared Chick Hicks. Because two and three year olds are somewhat noisy and need some maintenance during playdates, we didn’t get a lot of time to visit but it was nice to see that she still exists in the real world instead of just in my computer.

4. FireDad finally beat me at baseball on Wii Sports. While that doesn’t sound good for me, it was. I was tired of hearing him whine that he couldn’t beat me at baseball. That said, I can’t beat him at tennis or bowling. And the whining increases daily.

5. My best friend had a healthy baby boy! After about 36 hours of labor! Okay, so that doesn’t sound all that “awesome” for her but after a labor that long, I’m just happy to say that Mommy and Baby are a-okay! Now, out of the three of us from college, we all have boys. Oh, can you see the craziness that will ensue when they’re all together, considering LittleBrother is three months younger than one and three months older than the newest addition. Oh, it should be fun in about two years.

So. Five things that have kept me busy. We’re actually returning to The Farm this weekend so I can head to the hospital to visit my best friend and bestow kisses upon the new baby. Hopefully next week will magically produce extra hours in which to post blog “content.” Because unless more hours magically appear out of thin air, next week is looking just as busy!

Ah, life.

Ok. Safe to say you’ve been busy this week. I don’t know about you… but I’m craving a week away. Sun. Beach. Palm trees. You with me? :)

You and me both!! I’m so glad to be home again, where I can just deal with my normal life!! It was great to be away at the parents and in-laws, but 8 days of that can get, well… long.

Big Brother looks so adult like and Little Brother is looking more like Big Brother.

    Wow

Baby Bum loves his convertible seat. So many less tantrums.
