Anyone else having a problem with their Google Reader plugin as of… today? It’s not working for me at all today. And I’m very spoiled now and want/need it to work.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

My name is Jenna, aka FireMom. I blog here,

It’s not working for me either. I figured I must have done something. But it sounds like a problem on their end. Hopefully it gets fixed. I’m missing it deeply.

It sounds as though they did an update to the plugin and now it’s not working properly. I did a workaround and went to the plugin options (in your Tools/Add-ons) and just had it automatically preview when I click on it. Every feed will automatically display the webpage of the originating blog, but it’s better than nothing (for me, anyway).
Hope that helps until they get the bug fixed!

Jess; That doesn’t make much sense to me. LOL
Oh, sorry about that! I mean that the person who created the plugin did an update, which caused the feature to not work. If you go into your Tools menu (in Firefox) and click “Add-ons”. There should be an add-on called “Better GReader” that has a button to allow you to change the options within that. For some reason, he changed it so that it adds a “Preview” button on the bottom of each separate feed post that comes up in your reader, but this button doesn’t work for me at all. I changed it FROM “Preview item (click button)” TO “Preview item (automatically)”. This makes each feed post automatically pull up the blog page in Reader instead of having to click the button to make it pull the page up. My “workaround” thought was, “Well, since the click to activate button doesn’t work, I’ll just have it do it automatically all the time.” It saves me from having fifty open tabs (literally, as I am usually browsing several things at one time) and then I don’t have to worry about whether they have full feeds or not.
Let me know if that doesn’t make sense, and I’ll try to clarify more. I really hope he gets this fixed and sends out an update soon, but at least there is an option for now until the “click to see full post” button idea works again.

Over the last couple of days your most recent post isn’t showing up for me when I link to your site or hit the home button. For instance, right now I only see your busy, busy post followed by your March goals post. To get to this one I had to go to your recent posts sidebar. I don’t know if I’m the only one having this problem, but wanted to let you know in case others are seeing the same thing I am.

Yeah, I can’t get it to display full post with ANY option selected. Clicking on the title used to display the full post but … augh I’m frustrated now.
Let’s make sure we’re using the same version of the plugin. I’m on version 0.2.2 (found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6424 ) Does that make any difference?

Nope. I uninstalled (as it was the same version) and reinstalled. Still no go.
Blah.

Cobb; Anything marked as an “aside” shows on the sidebar, not the “main posts.” I haven’t had anything relevant to say in the past few days other than little blurbs, hence the asides.
Hmmmmm…this is very strange. I know it’s a known problem as the main website that the download comes from (http://lifehacker.com/software/exclusive-lifehacker-download/trick-out-google-reader-with-better-greader-262020.php) mentiones this in the comments. I couldn’t get ANY of the workarounds they mentioned in the comments (the latest ones) to work. I don’t know if it’s in part due to the OS I’m using or what.
For me, the only thing that is allowing me to read the blog posts completely in Google Reader is checking the “Preview item (automatically) in the options section of the extension (within Firefox). I can’t figure out why it’s not working for you, unless you are using a different OS or different Firefox version (I have Vista and Firefox 2.0.0.12). I’ll do some more looking around later tonight or tomorrow evening when I get home from work.
This is just odd. I hope they are working toward a fix for this bug in the new version.
I’ll let you know if I find anything.

Yeah. I just found the comments on the site as well. Trying a few things now! Here’s hoping!
Please update us if any of them work for you. I couldn’t get any of them to work, but I’m trying to adjust something from a link on those comments, so maybe that will work.
I loved this extension, so I’m bummed that it isn’t working properly.
