Today is Father’s Day. And I’m always torn. Should I be spending today solely with my own Dad or should I be helping the boys celebrate their own Dad? All the same, I’m here at the FireHouse, celebrating the awesomeness that is FireDad. I gave my own Dad a Pirates hat and plan on dragging him along on our next attempt at a baseball game.

Blurb BookSo, what did FireDad get from the boys? Well, LittleBrother decided to copy BigBrother’s gift from two years ago. He made a book of pictures of just him and FireDad. Okay, so, perhaps I helped a bit. For example, I chose to go with Blurb this year over Shutterfly and, whoa, am I ever happy. (Look for a review of their service(s) on the review blog this coming week.) And I did, well, all of the picture taking except a few photos. And I kind of made it. Though LittleBrother did slap the keyboard a few times here and there. Considering that I only worked on it during FireDad’s shift day, it’s a miracle I finished the thing! And, of course, I also allowed some pictures of BigBrother to be in the book as well because, as it turns out, you can’t have one without the other. Brothers. Who knew!

FireDad is also getting something from BigBrother. But we didn’t decide what to purchase until last week and shipping decided to go slowly despite paying for Priority. But it’s a good one. Trust me. It will have a post all of its own when it gets here. I’m so excited for it. I think it will have an accompanying video, not just pictures.

Speaking of videos, LittleBrother also made this video while we were separated from FireDad yesterday. We were on The Farm, celebrating Soon-to-be-Aunt-C’s bridal shower and FireDad was, of course, working. LittleBrother wanted him to know that he was on his mind.

Saying “Happy Father’s Day” doesn’t begin to cover how blessed this FireFamily is by the large number of Fathers that have touched our family. “Happy Father’s Day” doesn’t begin to cover how blessed this FireFamily is by the presence of a Dad like FireDad. So very blessed!

  1. Happy Father’s Day FireDad!!!! That book looks awesome. I can’t wait to read the review. I want to do a book on our little guy’s first year. I was looking at shutterfly. What one is easier?

  2. Happy Father’s Day to your FireDad!

  3. The Video’s awesome! My little guy is really just starting to talk well, and “Father’s” was too much for him, but he would repeat…

    Daddy: Say, “Happy!”
    Son: Hap-pee!

    Daddy: Say, “Daddy’s”
    Son: Dad-dees

    Daddy” Say, “Day!”
    Son: daaaaaaaaayyyyy

    It was precious!
