The title of this photo is “The One with the Wind.” Because, whoa, the wind. The remnants of Ike are blasting through Ohio as I type. And by blasting, well, I do mean blasting. Trees and limbs are down everywhere. And I’m typing this during our current bout of electric connection which is sure to go back out any second. It’s been off and on for the past two hours and I’m not quite sure we’ll be able to watch the Steelers tonight.

But, being the insane photobug that I am, I rounded BigBrother and LittleBrother up in their Roethlisberger jerseys, sat them down in the same spot as last week and made them pose for a few pictures. (Of note: the electric just went out again.) We didn’t take many. (Of note: the electric just came on again.) I was too worried about the neighbors’ trees all around our yard. Thankfully, I was able to snap this particular picture.

Obviously, the rain hasn’t set in yet. Sometime soon.

The Steelers are playing the Browns, which I’m sure you already know, at 8:15pm. The rivalry being what it is, I’ll be pretty bummed if I don’t get to watch the game. The Steelers will be facing the Browns in Cleveland tonight. And I’ve heard as far north as Akron that it’s ridiculously windy (and scary!) and so I hope the weather doesn’t have a negative affect on the game. Well, I mean, it can screw up the Browns and I’ll be okay with that but it should leave my Steelers alone. Okay? Great.

If I miss the game, well, at least I’ll have this super cute picture to remember The One with the Wind, right? (Lost electric as I went to post this. Back on before I could type the sentence. We’ll be logging off for the night.)

  1. I love these photos! I just wish I could Alexis to wear her jersey. Sadly, it’s not a dress, so she’s not too sure about it. (And no, she will not be wearing the cheerleading outfit. NO.)

Mr. Husband managed to watch the game on a tiny 2″ portable TV as our power was out all. night. long. I’m so glad it came on in time for us to go to work. Grrr . . .

  2. @Burgh Baby: Yes. Mom & Dad are still without power on The Farm. And kudos to you for shunning the cheerleading outfit for a jersey. You could get her a size bigger and TELL her its a dress. Right?

  3. Hope you got to watch the game!! It was kind of ugly, but I’ll take any win — especially against a big rival like Cleveland.

I’m still wondering why Ben wouldn’t answer questions about his shoulder afterward….

  4. @Kendra: We did! Our electric came back on just in time for the game. My parents, however, had to listen via radio. They lost power in Western PA (on The Farm) just at the beginning of the game. They still don’t have power. And, yes, I’ll take any win. I think the weather had a lot to do with the way that game went down.

  5. we lost the END of the game – when we lost power for 20 minutes. and as sad as that was, we did not lose our 20 minutes of dryer time on the dryers in the basement, nor did the power wait to come on until we had given up and hung ALL of the diaper laundry to dry!

  6. What a cute photo! Love the little jerseys.

Sorry you lost some power but glad you were able to see the game! I guess I was lucky here…didn’t lose power. Had some flickering, but nothing like what a lot of people are going through now, that’s for sure!
