I would love to be Pink for October for every single woman, man and child affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer doesn't just affect the woman who is diagnosed but also her family, her children, her friends. Even though no on in my immediate family has ever been diagnosed with it, my life has still been touched by it through friends and co-workers.

Thanks for doing this FM!!

Right now I'm actually dealing with my mom possibly having breast cancer. A few weeks ago she found a lump while doing a self examination. She's getting checked out this week and will hopefully be ok. It's just a scary time. One way or another, I know cancer has changed my life. I lost a best friend when I was in 8th grade to bone marrow cancer. The few years we became best friends were years that the doctors thought he would never have. I'm truly thankful for that. As for my mom, I pray for the best. I know God will take care of us all. It's absolutely change my mom's life too. It's helped her slow down and appreciate life. I think even if she ends up not having cancer, it's really opened our eyes to the families who are affected by any kind of cancer.

We have had several instances of cancer in my family. My great-aunt, who had and beat breast cancer multiple times, just recently passed away. I'm so glad I was able to get to know her growing up. And I think it's great that conversations on blogs can start conversations, bring support, raise awareness, and even just provide comfort or understanding. October is a special month.

My grandmother dies from breast cancer. She was only 63 and I was a very young child when she died. At the time it did not seem so big. I mean I knew my mom was sad but that was all I really understood. Now, I know exactly what I missed out on by losing her at such a young age.
