We’re leaving tomorrow for a wedding. The wedding of the two adults cooing, oohing and ahhing over newborn BigBrother in the picture above. Aunt Nettie and (Will-Be) Uncle J are tying the knot on Saturday. FireDad will be giving his sister away. BigBrother may or may not be a successful Ring Bearer. I will apparently be seeking out a black sweater/jacket to wear over my sleeveless dress as the outdoor ceremony is planned for a 63 degree day. And LittleBrother will also be rocking a tuxedo like the other two males in our immediate family… but the shortest guy will be sporting tails. Life is good.

I’m excited for the wedding. I like weddings. And parties. And food! I also like to dress up. And I have this grand plan to get a good family picture of us all decked out and dressed up to use as our Christmas card photo. And a weekend away, even if it is busy, sounds nice, doesn’t it?

But more than all of that, I’m excited for Nettie and J. Because when you look at that picture above, you can see how these two will be amazing together in all sorts of ways. That said, I’m predicting a late-2009 induction into Aunthood. Accepting bets now (even though they said “not immediately” I’m totally sticking with it because I want! to! be! an! aunt!)

And so, on this Love Thursday, I want to send the best of wishes to my sister-in-law and her soon-to-be-husband. I can only pray that they are able to know the love that FireDad and I have been blessed with in our marriage. Okay. Okay. And that they’re blessed with a girl. Because I don’t want that scary doll in my Mother-in-law’s hallway. (Inside scariness.)

Best of luck, you two! Not that you need it. You’ll be just fine.

  1. Relax. BB’s job should be “look cute.” (At least, that was my take on my 3yo RB’s real job.) My ring bearer carried his pillow upside-down, fake rings dangling, and it’s one of the cutest pictures from the wedding!

Also, if he’s still a big flirt, he may very well be thrilled with the idea of walking with all those pretty bridesmaids. (Happened at my sister’s wedding — one of the kids was shy until he noticed all the “older” women he was hanging out with!)

  2. Hope you all have a wonderful time! I love weddings and congrats to the bride and groom.
