As I wrote about in my 2009 Goals post, I’m attempting Project365 again this year. As a means of motivation, I started a new blog. A photoblog to be exact. I didn’t want to spam daily photos on this blog (as thumbnails of each public Project365 photo actually appear in my header on this blog) so I went ahead and threw up a subdomain. The title won’t surprise anyone: Stop, Drop & Photograph. See?

Stop, Drop & Photograph

I must say, I like it. Not just the theme (Photopress), though the clean theme with no distraction is rather nice. But I love the whole idea of doing things that make it easier to stick with my goals for 2009. Each post on the blog will feature the picture of the day and a short (or, sometimes, lengthy as, you know, I’m wordy) explanation of said photo. Each photo on the blog will contain my new (brush) watermark. (Learn to make your own brush in Photoshop with this tutorial.) I might, occasionally, include a few funny outtakes from photoshoots gone awry but, for the most part, it will be solely dedicated to my Project365 photographs.

Speaking of photography, I’m longing for spring. As a winter lover, this year’s winter is killing me. The boys want to play outside. And my camera wants to be outside as well. I know it will come and then I will complain when summer’s heat rolls around but, still, it’s hard to stay creative indoors for months on end. I digress.

All the same, I promise that each day will have a photo. I will be realistic and admit that I will occasionally have to backdate a photo or two as I may not get one edited and uploaded before bedtime but, in the end, each day will have an honest-to-goodness photo taken on that day of the 2009. I’m an honest (photo)blogger. Promise!

And so, after you check out my new photography blog, please let me know if you have a photoblog as well. I will include a link on my photoblog’s blogroll.

(Don’t forget, my Signing Time DVD giveaway ends today at noon. Go!)

  1. I love this project. I hope a lot of people stick with it, it’s so fun to take a peek into everyone’s life like this.

  2. A photoblog is great idea! And I agree with you – I love the clean look. And, of course, your photos are beautiful. I’ve been thinking of doing Project365 this year – since I considered it in time to actually do it, although I haven’t put my (5) photos anywhere online yet (and, thus, haven’t actually committed). I look forward to seeing your photos this year!

  3. @Chrissy: Oh, yes! Please do it! It’s such a blast, I’ve found.

  4. I love that you have started a photoblog! I don’t always have time to catch up on my favorite reads, but I love that photos sometimes ARE worth 1,000 words. I will be adding it to my reader.

I’m not officially doing 365 this year but I did start a photoblog of my own in November and hope to stick with it.
