Here are my tips on how to achieve good preschool pictures.

1. Sign your child up for basketball.

2. Make sure basketball pictures fall three days before preschool pictures. Have them go horribly.

3. Buy nice, colorful shirt for pictures.

4. Tell him to smile for his preschool pictures, the exact opposite of what he did for basketball pictures.

5. Remind him the whole way to preschool to smile with his teeth.

6. Ask him afterward if he smiled with his teeth. Fear his answer is a lie.
6a. Discuss the consequences of lying.
6b. Be ignored.

7. Fret about it for two weeks.

8. Smile back at his smiling picture.

See?

Preschool Pics

So, really, it’s kind of just hit and miss. In the end, it turned out well. I’m greatly pleased. I shelled out the cash, worried that it would turn out horribly. But I’m pleased. He’s even smiling nicely in the class picture (which I won’t share with the blogosphere). Suffice it to say that it’s a funny picture, complete with one child flashing a thumbs up. That kid is full of win, let me tell you. I might do the same in the next group picture I have to take.

Perhaps it’s the 20,000 or so pictures I’ve taken since he was born. You think?

  1. Oh my holy cuteness!!! GREEN cuteness! I love his tiny bit of teeth showing!!

Smiles on the whole fret about it for two weeks!

Can’t wait to see your post for MONDAY!!

Carissas last blog post..You Gave Your Toddler A Cell Phone!?

    • @Carissa, Yes. I’m a bit biased in clothing choices. My favorite color is green! So… green it was. To boot, picture day was on St. Patrick’s Day. I’m surprised more than just his girlfriend aren’t decked in green in the class picture

      WOO MONDAY!

  2. Aww! It turned out great! He is such a cutie! I can’t imagine how my mom must have felt with my prechool pics after reading this-I was crying! (I ended up being a preschool drop out-I seriously cried the whole time-LOL!)

    • @Kristie, Awww. I almost wish BB would have had a little more emotion. On the first day, he was all, “SEE YA, MA!” Break my heart, child. Break my heart.

  3. That’s a great picture! You’ve trained him well for the camera. :-)

  4. It’s a great picture (as was the class one). The colors are AWESOME!

  5. He’s obviously adorable, but I have to say I LOVE the serious little expression in the basketball picture. Totally cracked me up!

  6. I hate the crap shoot that is school pictures. Last year Bee was 2 and was screaming blood murder in the pictures. This year she’s almost three and she’s smiling like she just conned her way into some high quality chocolate. It’s funny, because I’ve heard toddlers were such a predictable group. ;-)
