That’s so sad….33 God I just turned 30, I feel like I have so much more work to do, so much more time with my family etc.

Thanks for the personal reminder of what really was lost 8 years, it is unfortunately too easy to forget the human stories.

I struggled to find something meaningful to say this morning. I didn’t feel like I could even approach the dignity and enormity of meaning 9/11 deserves. I wish I had known about Project 2996. Thank you for writing and sharing such beautiful words. I hope I can find the same sort of balance with and teach the same compassion to my children.

Great post FireMom… it is interesting on how years passing can change our perspective of an event, but the memories of the event can still be vivid.

8 years ago I was sitting with my roommates in college around the coffee table in our dorm room watching TV. I had little idea that 5 years after that I would become a firefighter and help uphold those great traditions of service. I find 9/11 to be a great day to reflect on the past, present, and future as we will never forget that day and what it meant to each of us.
