My son is two and LOVES fire fighters (your tips on the sew-free costume will be put to use this halloween) but I have been nervous about talking to him about the possibility of fire in our home because I don't want him to be too scared. Sparkles sounds like a great way to break the ice. I've also been meaning to buy an escape ladder... p.s. am also an adoptive mom with some (international) birth family contact and really appreciate your thoughts about adoption in Munchkinland. I know that it is time for us to replace our fire extinguisher. My children are 11 and 13. They have been learning fire safety for years and know what to do if they are on fire, how to escape our home and where to meet. I would like to think, after all these years of teaching, they know everything they should. With one at 13, it is probably time to teach him how to use a fire extinguisher. If we win, I will share the book and a few of the other goodies with my nieces who are all under 5, and their parents. What a great giveaway!
