Do Good Day ROCKS

There are a lot of companies doing a lot of things with bloggers nowadays. Whether you agree with certain tactic or disagree with brand involvement at all, you have to like when a brand does something good for communities. I’m super excited to be involved with 77 Kids and their Do Good Day project.

In short, 11 bloggers in 7 cities (77 bloggers, get it?) are getting together to do some good in their communities. Each city has a different theme though we all have totally awesome boxes of do-goodery.

Do-goodery. Love it.

Anyway, I fell in love with the idea for many reasons. Basically, I get to hang out with really cool bloggers, participate in random acts of kindness and use the word shenanigans. Count me in. I’ve decided to take BigBrother with me as I find it important for my children to understand the process of giving back. (LittleBrother isn’t coming due to still being in the “I have to pee means I have to pee NOW” phase.) Quite a few of the other bloggers involved in the event (in Pittsburgh at least) are bringing their kiddos. What’s cuter than children participating in random acts of kindness? I squee at the thought.

So, in short, if you’re in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, July 14th, hop down to the Science Center between 11am and 2pm. (Though if I’m not there right at 11, don’t shoot me. We’re preparing for our annual ten days of camping. I can’t guarantee timeliness on my part when packing up our lives!)

Oh? And? I’ll be there with my cameras, documenting the whole thing. I’ll be sharing the best photos with you here on the blog on Thursday or Friday (remember: camping). Be sure to follow my tweets (@FireMom) with the hashtag #77kids for some twitpics, some updates and some general shenaniganing. Which is totally a word.

[Disclosure: Participating bloggers will receive a stipend from 77 Kids. Also, please recognize how awesome The Motherhood is for organizing this awesomeness.]
