I really tried to look for shapes all week as Beth announced that would be this week’s You Capture theme. I meant to find something really awesome, to find some “found” shapes along our weekly photography jaunts. The truth is that this week got a little out of hand scheduling wise and I didn’t find any shapes. So, as I packed (post coming shortly) and cleaned the house yesterday evening, I came across LittleBrother’s shape sorter, grabbed three shapes and went outside.

Now, the pictures aren’t all that inspiring. Or artistic. Or anything more than Plastic Shapes on a Wooden Fence. But I really wanted to push myself to participate this week. I find that when I miss a week of a challenge like this, then I just let it fall by the wayside for far too long. Then I get too nervous to poke my head back in and say, “Can I play again?” And then I stay away for even longer which causes more shyness and, oh, the cycle continues. And, so, I made myself do it. I made myself pull them off the camera. And edit. And upload. And write this post.

And now I present to you: Plastic Shapes on a Wooden Fence.

It’s never going to be in an art gallery. I mean, the name is kind of edgy and alternative but, really, let’s be honest. This isn’t my best work. In the end, I’m glad to have participated. I wish I could take the time to view everyone else’s this week but I need to get out the door as we’re heading to camp. I’m hoping to scrounge up enough internet access to participate in next week’s theme: black and white. I’m sure I can edit some great shots of camp into black and white. If I can’t find access, I’ll be sure to post late.

Because I like to play. (With Plastic Shapes on a Wooden Fence? Yes. I do.)
